Alison Nakamura Netter
Executive Director

Alison Nakamura Netter is an experienced nonprofit professional who leads the day-to-day operations for ZanaAfrica Foundation. Alison joined ZanaAfrica in 2015 where she served as head of Communications & Development; and continues to wear these hats in addition to operations, financial oversight, Board development, and general nonprofit management. Over the past fifteen years she has served as a senior leader in social impact organizations for a range of domestic and international causes, from abolishing sex trafficking in Cambodia to promoting diversity and gender parity in the Arts in New York City. She is a graduate of Northeastern University and holds a Master's Degree in Social Work from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College. She enjoys running and nature and lives with her husband and son on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, a place she has called home for the past eighteen years.
